Building the Foundation

The story of Smillon started with a strategy professor, PH.D. Shawn, a chief engineer, Hong, and a sales director with an MBA degree, Jelly, all of whom had been in humidifier products field since 2003. They all knew each other well and were interested in building a new dream together to offer unique, innovative humidifiers to people worldwide.

They founded Smillon Commercial Co., Ltd. in 2010 and developed the first new humidifier, but at the outset, outsourcing was the only option due to a shortage of capital. Fortunately, the first humidifier product achieved big success, and orders increased dramatically. However, it was here that they met their biggest headache: quality and lead times were out of control.

Establishing the Factory

Spurred by consumer trust and customer satisfaction, the partners felt the opportunity was right to invest and establish their own factory to meet their clients’ increasing order quantities and requirements, especially with a focus on high-quality designs and strict delivery schedules. In 2015, Smillon Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd was founded to take charge of the whole chain from R&D, production, marketing, and sales. The business took the leap into a new stage of production and achieved rapid growth, year by year.

In 2021, Smillon moved to a newly purchased modern manufacturing building with eight production lines and a two-million pieces production capacity to serve their customers more efficiently.

Operationalizing Innovation

In 2022, Smillon established an R&D center, Marketing, and Sales Center in Foshan city to focus on new technology & product development. Smillon based its product development strategy on having a deep understanding of the consumer. Identifying consumer problems, or where current solutions were falling short, was the innovation gap to address. This thinking helped create more and more effective and competitive products which had won an excellent reputation from the market. We believe creating comfort and health is the most valuable and infinite journey in Smillon’s life.
